Might as well start with how this is getting to you. I have a computer in my closet, essentially. Ivy Bridge Xeon, load of RAM, storage, etc. The server runs Proxmox, and this website is on a Linux container. My photos site is on the same server, separate container, as well as git. It also hosts a personal storage site, using Nextcloud.
